LYNN — Tania Lillak enjoys summer swims at King’s Beach with her 7-year-old son, but the Swampscott resident is rethinking her plans after an environmental survey gave the sandy stretch poor marks for water quality.
“I’m not pleased. It might affect if we swim here,” Lillak said Wednesday as she walked along the beach seawall.
Boston-based environmental organization Save the Harbor/Save the Bay ranked King’s Beach last among 18 beaches in 10 communities based on reviews of ocean water sample tests gathered by state inspectors.
More than one in four water samples taken at King’s Beach exceeded state safe water quality standards, earning it a 73.2 percent ranking in Save the Harbor’s study.
“King’s Beach is a problem,” said Save the Harbor spokesman Bruce Berman.
The study gave Revere Beach an 87.5 percent ranking and beaches along the Nahant Causeway an 88.5 percent ranking.
Lillak goes to the end of King’s Beach nearest Red Rock Park for sun and swimming, and said concerns about water flowing from Stacey Brook onto the beach keep her away from the Swampscott end.
The brook flows out of a large pipe opening in the seawall near Eastern Avenue and cuts across the beach to the ocean.
“Last year there were several incidences of high bacteria levels at the Stacey Brook outlet near the beach,” Department of Conservation and Recreation spokeswoman SJ Port wrote in an email on Wednesday.
Growing up in the North Shore there were just a few things you had to know: don’t tug on Superman’s cape, don’t spit in the wind, don’t eat Indian food and certainly don’t swim at fucking King’s Beach. I’m pretty sure that was the first words out of my grandmother’s mouth to me, “Johnny, don’t ever swim at King’s Beach, the water is fucking brown.”
Anyways, Swampscott people. Growing up in Saugus as a kid you think Swampscott people are these magical rich people that live on the beach but when you get older and can develop thoughts you realize they are just a bunch of cheap Jews that complain about everything. That said you got to love some of the quotes in the story… apparently, Tania here was just going to throw her kids into the brown mist if this report didn’t come out. It didn’t matter if the water has more bacteria then a fucking Chelsea STD clinic, she needed it published in the newspaper or the kids were going in. Honestly, I haven’t seen blue water at King’s Beach since around ’88.
Then you got Kevvie above here that takes fucking dips in there all the time. BUT only after high tide. I mean, a man’s got to have a code, right? How moronic are Swampscott people? Seriously, do you see any Lynn people over there? Nope. They might not work but they aren’t dumb. They are sitting in traffic on the Causeway trying to get a $3 parking space on Long Beach right now. And the real smart Lynners are mooching off elusive Bozarjian Short Beach Parking decals to escape King’s Beach.
Grow up, Swampscott.

Do these people have a nose? That beach smells like a sewerage plant on a hot day served in a dirty diaper. How hasn’t evolution killed these idiots off yet.
How can you call Swampscott people stupid you smelly lynn fucks are the ones smelling up the fuckin beach in the first place. I dont kno any swampscott people going to kings beach. We save that beach for all you dirty lynn people to stink you out and keep you from coming into swampscott.
calm down Santino Foresta
Who are you referring to by saying “all you Lynn people”? I think pretty much everyone will agree that Lynn should be blown off the map while all of it’s residents are home sleeping
